NZ brokers are being invited to attend the Underwriting Agencies Council's (UAC) inaugural Wellington Underwriting Expo.

The event will be held on August 3 at Rydges Hotel, and will feature Paul Ash, director of the National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO), which leads and coordinates development and implementation of NZ's cyber security policy.

Formerly a career diplomat who's led NCPO since its inception in July 2012, Ash will present a seminar about the importance of cyber security to NZ, the NZ Government's approach to security, and the role of the insurance industry to this endeavour.

After the seminar, an underwriting expo will be held which will give NZ brokers an opportunity to speak with UAC members about the specialist, niche products and services they offer.

UAC GM William Legge said the successful UAC Underwriting Expos in Auckland, which began in 2015, and in Christchurch in 2016 prompted them to expand to other regions, with Wellington “as New Zealand’s capital, was the obvious next location.”

“We’ve received lots of positive feedback from NZ brokers so we’re delighted to be able to expand the seminar & expo concept more broadly,” he said.

By registering to attend the event and getting an expo exhibitor sheet signed by all exhibitors, brokers can get 3.5 ANZIIF points.
