CEO of rural insurer FMG Chris Black has announced that he will be stepping down from his role after this year’s Annual General Meeting in August.

Commenting on the move, Black said he felt “the time was right” for FMG to appoint a new leader as it gears up for further growth.

“It’s been a career highlight to lead FMG for over a decade as part of the Executive Leadership Team and working closely with the Board,” he said.

“With FMG in good heart and growing, the time is right for a change in Chief Executive, both from FMG’s point of view, and equally, my own.

“While I’ll miss working alongside all the great people that represent this fine organisation, I’m looking forward to some new challenges beyond the Mutual. Meanwhile though, it’s business as usual in terms of running FMG and providing clients and members with the advice, service and support we pride ourselves on delivering.”

Black is stepping down after 13 years in the role of CEO. The recruitment process to select a new Chief Executive has begun, with an announcement expected once the process is complete.
