Specialist insurance law firm DAC Beachcroft wins for second time

Law firm DAC Beachcroft has been named Specialist Insurance Law Firm of the Year 2016 at the 12th annual New Zealand Law Awards, it has been revealed.

Presenting the award in front of 610 of New Zealand’s top legal professionals at Auckland’s Langham Hotel was Mike Raines, CEO of the award’s sponsor, AIG New Zealand.

The win, which is now the second in a row, was made all the sweeter with managing partner Antony Holden’s recognition as well.

Holden received a Highly Commended in the Managing Partner of the Year (less than 100 employees) category.

Speaking of the firm’s success on the night, Holden said: “I am very proud of what we’ve built together and the really impressive results we are achieving for our clients.

“To win two years running after only a few years in business is a pretty special thing,” he told Insurance Business.

Other successes on the night were McElroys, who received a Highly Commended in the Specialist Insurance Law Firm of the Year award.

Wilson Harle, which has been recognised for its insurance expertise, won the Crowe Horwath Litigation & Dispute Resolution Specialist Law Firm of the Year Award; and commercial law firm Anthony Harper, which has a specialist insurance division, won the Legal Personnel Employer of Choice for the 51-100 employees category.
