Jason Knight has been appointed as global head of the insurance segment at State Street Corporation.

The financial services provider – which has a worldwide roster of 39,000 people and operates in more than 100 geographic markets – snapped up Knight from BNY Mellon. The key hire brings 27 years of experience spanning posts related to insurance and investment management.

“I see 2021 as a defining year for the insurance industry,” asserted Knight. “The challenges that unfolded during the COVID-19 pandemic unlocked new opportunities and new ways of working with our clients and partners.

“I’m very excited to be joining State Street and leading a first-rate team at such an important moment for the insurance industry.”

Francisco Aristeguieta, chief executive of the institutional services division, is “very pleased” to welcome the global insurance head to State Street.
