Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Andrew Dougall to the role of global head casualty.

In his new leadership role, Dougall will be responsible for driving the success and profitability of the company’s bespoke casualty portfolio globally. He will work with a global team of underwriting experts, as well as the regional casualty leads to maintain underwriting standards and ensure management and liability coverages meet the needs of Swiss Re’s corporate customers.

On top of his role as global head of casualty, Dougall will also take on the role of head of casualty & FinPro (financial & professional liability) for the EMEA region.

Dougall will be based in London, and will report to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions chief underwriting officer of bespoke corporate solutions Kera McDonald.

“We’re committed to the casualty insurance market globally and I’m delighted to welcome Andrew to the team. He is a highly experienced casualty and FinPro executive with outstanding technical underwriting knowledge, leadership skills and industry perspectives from across diverse geographies,” said McDonald.

Dougall has more than two decades of underwriting and leadership experience, particularly in casualty and financial lines. He was most recently serving as deputy active underwriter and head of casualty lines at Neon Underwriting. Prior to joining Neon, he spent nine years at Mitsui Sumitomo Underwriting, where he served a number of leadership roles including head of property and casualty. Dougall also previously worked at CNA Insurance for seven years, in the roles of regional underwriting manager and European casualty manager.
