Business magnate Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Speciality Insurance (BHSI) has made two local appointments with promises of plans for New Zealand to be revealed later in the year.

Cameron McLisky, currently head of financial lines at AIG Singapore, will be joining BHSI as country manager for New Zealand as of November.

A former Canterbury University law graduate, McLisky’s time with AIG has taken him to the UK and Australia before which he held positions in General Re and worked as a broker for Marsh.

Australian Chris Colahan is leaving his position as CEO of RSA Asia to join BHSI as regional head of Australasia.

Colahan confirmed the news with Insurance Business saying both appointments were still subject to relevant regulator approvals but he would share more detail about the plans for New Zealand once their positions were given the official stamp.
