The global headquarters of Zurich Insurance Group has been awarded WELL Platinum status, which is said to be the highest certification for employee wellbeing.

In an emailed release, the insurer said: “Quai Zurich Campus (pictured) was planned, built, and renovated with sustainability in mind. Following the award of LEED Platinum certification for the whole campus in 2021, the building has now achieved the highest levels in both the LEED and WELL environmental rating systems.

“The WELL Building Standard measures 10 features or concepts that impact occupants’ health and wellbeing: air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community.”

Through the coveted status, the goal is to advance human health using design interventions and operational protocols and policies while promoting a culture of health and wellbeing.

“Zurich aims to provide facilities that foster a culture of innovation and service, giving a warm welcome to visitors and allowing employees to work flexibly, collaboratively, and creatively,” the company said. “Several of the group’s offices have achieved certifications that demonstrate the degree to which sustainability has been integrated into their design, construction, and operations.

“Besides the WELL Platinum and LEED Platinum certifications, the Quai Zurich Campus has also been recognised with 2000-Watt-Society certification for the whole campus [as well as] MINERGIE-P ECO certification for the new buildings and MINERGIE ECO certification for the historically listed buildings.”

Quai Zurich Campus at Mythenquai has been the insurance group’s home base since 1901. Its WELL Platinum certification makes Zurich one of the first companies in Europe to receive the recognition.
