Insurance services provider Thomas Miller is to acquire the managing general agency and insurance services operations of Zeller Associates, it has been revealed this morning.

Hamburg-headquartered Zeller Associates is an international provider of risk-related and insurance services, mainly for shipping, trade and transport, as well as other specialist areas including the cruise and tourism industry.

The firm is made up of six operational businesses covering a range of services from insurance underwriting and insurance management to claims handling, loss adjusting and expert investigations. The operations employ 37 people.

“The acquisition of these businesses’ specialist expertise across a broad range of marine transport related insurance services is an excellent and complementary addition to the Thomas Miller Group,” commented Hugo Wynn Williams, chairman of Thomas Miller.

Dr. Harald Zeller, of Zeller Associates, added that the business was “delighted” to be joining Thomas Miller at what he called an exciting time in the latter’s development.

“We have common values and vision for the future with our businesses playing an important role in Thomas Miller’s future growth strategy,” Zeller said.
