Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Terry FitzGerald (pictured) as divisional head of financial and professional lines (FinPro). He will be based in LSM’s London office and will report to Melanie O’Neill, chief underwriting officer, commercial.

The new FinPro role was created after O’Neill’s promotion to CUO last year. In his new role, FitzGerald will have strategic oversight of the London FinPro book of business, which covers financial institutions, directors and officers, professional indemnity, and strategic assets cover. The London FinPro book includes business written in Bristol, Manchester and Dublin. FitzGerald will work closely with his team of underwriting managers and O’Neill to build LSM’s market position.

FitzGerald joins LSM from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, where he served as head of D&O and financial institutions for the UK. He has more than 20 years of insurance and reinsurance experience.
