Insurance firm Ageas has already taken the decision to close an office of one of its famous brands – and now it has taken the decision to close another brand to new business.

Hot on the heels of its decision to close its Kwik-Fit Lanarkshire site, which has put 521 jobs at risk, Ageas has taken the decision to close its Castle Cover brand to new business.

A message on the broker’s website states that the brand is no longer offering car or home insurance to new customers and instead points visitors in the direction of its sister brand RIAS.

According to Ageas, while Castle Cover is no longer open for new business, existing customers can maintain their cover and even renew.

It is not expected that there will be any impact to jobs from the decision to close Castle Cover to new business – both Castle Cover and RIAS are based within the same office in Bournemouth.
