September 17 marked the start of Lewis Edwards’s (pictured) career at Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM).

Edwards, who was with Allianz from December 2008, has made the switch to LSM to focus on developing and implementing the underwriting strategy for large, multiline binders – mainly in property, casualty, environmental, personal accident, and contingency. As underwriting head of delegated authority for specialty lines, he will report to CUO specialty Mike Gosselin.

The key arrival brings with him significant experience in leading major facilities, programmes, and schemes across all lines and territories. Edwards has also spent time at AIG and Heath Lambert.

“We’ve created this new role to develop our specialty coverholder business both in the UK and internationally,” explained Gosselin. “As the market evolves, providing the full breadth of our products to our coverholders presents an increasingly important platform within our underwriting model of the future.

“We believe we have a real opportunity to build a market-leading brand and reputation in this sector.”
