The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has cancelled this year’s Australian and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards, amid the current uncertainty around the impacts of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“We are extremely disappointed to cancel our awards nights in Australia and New Zealand,” said Prue Willsford, ANZIIF CEO. “Our awards night provides the opportunity for our industry to come together and celebrate success. Every year, the industry puts incredible effort and attention into their awards submissions. Right now, their focus is on providing support and assistance to communities in need during this difficult period, which is we have made the socially responsible decision to cancel both events.”

Willsford said ANZIIF will continue to provide professional learning and development opportunities through its online education capability which includes video webinars.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have begun their submissions, our sponsors, partners, and past event attendees who have stuck by us,” Willsford said. “We understand it is important to celebrate the success and achievements of the industry and we will be working hard during this time to hold events when it is safe to do. Our thoughts and well wishes are with everyone during this time.”

For those who have been affected by the event cancellation, they may contact ANZIIF’s customer service team via call on +61 (3) 9613 7200 or email [email protected].
