Arch Insurance Australia (Arch) has bolstered its professional indemnity capabilities by appointing Joe Bone as its new product and distribution manager for professional indemnity, effective immediately.

Bone (pictured) has over 18 years of insurance market experience. He joined Arch after spending eight years at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where he had served as the Australian professional indemnity manager since 2019. Previously, he was the national SME manager for financial lines at AIG in Australia.

New role

In his new role at Arch, Bone will be responsible for expanding and enhancing the company’s professional indemnity product suite and distribution strategies, mainly focusing on the Northern Region market.

Based in Sydney, Bone will report to Anthony Hinde, underwriting manager of professional indemnity.

Hinde commented: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Joe’s calibre and experience into the professional indemnity team. His dedication to building lasting broker relationships aligns with Arch’s client-focussed approach, and his underwriting expertise will be hugely valuable in supporting our continued growth.”

The senior appointment follows Arch Reinsurance Ltd’s promotions of Crystal Doughty and William Soares to the roles of chief underwriting officer for property and chief underwriting officer for casualty and specialty, respectively.
