Arch Australia has continued its June appointment spree with the addition of James Vlass to its executive assurance team in Melbourne as an underwriter.

Vlass joins from Chubb Insurance Australia Limited (Chubb), where he was a financial lines underwriter within its small commercial team. Arch deemed Vlass a highly motivated practitioner who demonstrates a strong client focus and a valuable addition to its team.

Earlier in June, Arch Insurance International appointed Kirsten Valder as its new chief administrative officer and Jason Kittinger as its new chief operating officer, effective on June 30.

Valder has served as Arch's chief claims officer since 2015. Before joining the company, she served as a partner at Kennedys Law LLP. In her new role, her remit will span claims, legal, human resources, compliance, and risk.

Meanwhile, Kittinger is a highly experienced chief financial officer who has been with the company since 2006. As the new chief operating officer, he will oversee Arch's finance, operations, facilities, and procurement areas. He will also continue serving as the chief financial officer.
