Arch Insurance Australia (Arch) has appointed Louise Lumley as its underwriting manager for executive assurance in the Northern Region, effective immediately.

Lumley (pictured) joined Arch from AIG Australia, where she was a financial lines senior underwriter responsible for the major accounts segment of the corporate financial lines portfolio. Previously, she was a financial lines underwriter at Chubb Insurance Australia's independent broker unit.

In her new role at Arch, Lumley will manage the insurer's executive assurance portfolio and associated underwriting team for the Northern Region, including Queensland and New South Wales (NSW). She is based in Sydney and reports to Paula Ritchie, underwriting manager for executive assurance.

Commenting on the appointment, Ritchie commended Lumley's “deserved market reputation for her dedication to delivering the highest possible service to broker partners, combined with an extensive knowledge of the financial lines sector.”

“This approach is core to how we do business at Arch, and her addition to the team will further enhance our high levels of service and ability to deliver informed solutions to respond to the needs of our brokers and mutual customers,” Ritchie said.

Lumley's entrance to Arch follows the appointment of seasoned insurance leader David Stallard as the insurer's new senior cargo underwriter.
