National law firm Barry.Nilsson. has expanded its insurance and health team with the appointment of Katie Swain as a consultant in its Melbourne office, and Christian Breen as a special counsel in Sydney.

Swain brings to her new role 14 years of insurance industry experience, specialising in property damage liability and recovery claims. She was most recently a partner at national law firm Lander & Rogers and also worked for an international insurance and reinsurance practice in London earlier in her career.

Breen, meanwhile, has 10 years of insurance law and litigation experience, specialising in general liability, aviation liability, and complex litigation. He has worked with major international and local insurers and brokers, as well as many corporate insureds and self-insureds, in Australia, the US, Italy, the UK, and New Zealand.

Don Leembruggen, Barry.Nilsson. managing director, said both Swain and Breen are “leaders in their fields and welcome additions to our ever-expanding national liability team.”

Swain and Breen’s appointments follow that of senior lawyers Carolyn Coventry (special counsel, Sydney), Corrina Dowling (special counsel, Melbourne), and Jacob Luca (senior associate, Melbourne).
