Beazley CFO Martin Bride will be succeeded by group actuary Sally Lake when he steps down in May.

Lake, who came onboard the specialist insurer in 2006 and has served as group actuary since 2014, has been chosen to assume the group finance director post following what Beazley described as a “comprehensive search” for Bride’s replacement.

“I am delighted that Sally will be taking up the role and I look forward to working closely with her,” commented Beazley chief executive Andrew Horton.

“Sally brings exceptional skills, energy, and relevant experience to the role and it is pleasing that we have been able to promote from within the organisation.”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Beazley is looking for a new non-executive director to chair its audit and risk committee. It announced that Angela Crawford-Ingle is leaving after two three-year terms.

“Angela has been an excellent chair of the audit and risk committee and contributor to the board,” said chairman David Roberts. “I, together with the rest of the board, would like to extend our sincere thanks to her for the technical expertise and experience, which have been invaluable.”
