Warren Saunders (pictured below), the founder and namesake of Warren Saunders Insurance Brokers (WSIB), has passed away at age 88.

“It is with a heavy heart that we inform you all of the passing of our founder, Warren Saunders earlier this morning,” announced the brokerage on Wednesday. “We know this news will leave a hole in the hearts of many, as it has done for us.”

Saunders was described by the business as a wonderful, ambitious, and caring man.

“We hope to continue to do him and his legacy proud every single day,” stated WSIB, which is led by managing director and Warren’s son John Saunders.

Words of condolences have since poured in for both the Saunders family and WSIB. “A true gentleman” was the most common of the descriptors in messages posted by Saunders’ industry peers.

Founded in 1961, WSIB is headquartered in Kirrawee and specialises in corporate & business insurance and workers compensation.
