Sometimes, we all need a little extra help getting our ideas off the ground – and a new initiative has been created to give brokers the lift they need.

Insurance brokers are used to being the support system for their clients, but there are many occasions when brokers need a helping hand too in the form of capital and other types of business support. Now a new initiative named InsurePitch is attempting to give them just that – it’s a funding initiative being led by industry specialists across Australia with the aim of backing the broking industry.

The idea is that brokers put forward their business concepts and the best that apply are offered technology resources, business support and capital to bring those ideas to life. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, they will be able to call on a distribution network of more than 1,000 brokers and their clients, worth hundreds of millions in GWP, to boost their ideas.

The idea for InsurePitch was developed by Premium Funding and has received further support from Ausure, Insurance House Group, PSC insurance, the Hollard Group and Resilium Insurance Brokers. The goal is to give brokers the upper hand on their direct competitors and help improve client relationships while boosting revenue.

“The industry is changing, and insurance brokers are not immune to the rising challenges posed by direct insurers and insuretch players,” said Premium Funding director Ross Hayward. “Brokers who don’t adapt and use disruptive technology are going to lose out.

“Technology and automation are vital in competing against these new entrants. Now is the time to disrupt the disruptors. If you have an idea that can help streamline and automate processes for brokers and their clients, or can help them generate new business or increase revenues, come and talk to us.”

Anyone is welcome to apply to InsurePitch with applications closing October 31, 2017.
