Insurance Business has revealed the best insurance companies in Australia for 2026, with brokers delivering their verdict on the top-performing insurers in the market.
Brokers from across Australia were invited to rate the performance of a selection of insurers currently operating in the country, providing an independent, broker-driven ranking. To ensure the results were relevant and timely, respondents were asked to rate only those insurers they had dealt with in the past 12 months.
Eleven insurers were rated in this year’s survey. Brokers scored each insurer on a scale of 1 (very poor) to 5 (very good) across 11 categories. For each category, insurers were ranked by average score, with the top three receiving gold, silver, or bronze recognition. The combined average across all categories determined the overall Insurer of the Year.
Berkley Insurance Australia took the Insurer of the Year title, narrowly edging out Vero and Allianz in a close three-way finish.
