Strata insurance specialist CHU has announced a major national underwriting appointment, demonstrating the company’s depth of experience and focus on promotion from within.

Steve Tchepak, formerly underwriting manager for CHU’s NSW/ACT branch, was promoted to national underwriting manager, to oversee and manage the largest strata portfolio in the industry.

Tchepak, who has been with CHU for 11 years now, said his aim in the new role is to “help CHU continue to innovate and evolve its insurance products to develop underwriting solutions for modern living.”

“CHU encourages and nurtures staff to rise within the company,” said CHU CEO Bobby Lehane, as he pointed out that 7% of staff at CHU were promoted last year. “It demonstrates the depth of our talent which enables us to focus on promotion from within.”

Prior to CHU, Tchepak was a strata manager at Strata Partners.
