A long-serving insurance leader will be leaving Insurance Australia Group (IAG) in March.

IAG’s Ben Bessell will step down from his role as executive general manager of business distribution after more than 26 years with the insurance giant.

During that period, he has held several executive roles within IAG and the CGU insurance business. He also been a member of the group leadership team since 2015. Prior to his current role, he was chief executive of IAG’s Australian business division.

Bessell “has been an integral part of our commercial insurance business for many years and is a highly respected figure within the insurance industry,” said Peter Harmer, IAG managing director and CEO. “I want to thank Ben for his fantastic contribution to our company and for his many years of service and support. We wish him every success for the future.”
