In a bid to strengthen its financial services capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region, Willis Towers Watson has recruited former Westpac leader Jamie Jeffers as divisional director for financial solutions.

Jeffers joins WTW after spending more than a decade at the Westpac Group, where he was most recently sector head of insurance relationships for financial solutions in Westpac Institutional Bank. He will be based in Sydney, and will report to Stuart Ashworth, managing director for financial solutions for APAC at WTW.

In a statement, Ashworth said Jeffers will further expand WTW's knowledge in risk and capital management and offering into the Australian market, Asia Asset Management reported.

“Jamie has significant experience working with Australian lenders, and understands how the insurance market can interact with, and complement their distribution strategy,” Ashworth said. “Leveraging our global expertise, Jamie will provide guidance and assistance to both international and domestic clients in Australia, allowing those clients to understand and access insurance capacity and capital.”
