Global brokerage Aon has appointed a former Olympian to a lead sales role.

Nick Green, current Aon head of sport, will become head of sales for Aon’s global and corporate client segment, to lead a national team of specialists tasked with driving new business and supporting the national industry practice groups.

Based in Melbourne, Green will retain his role as national practice leader for sport.

Green was CEO of Cycling Australia prior to joining Aon in February 2018. He is an experienced director and leader who has worked across sport, public health, and the corporate sectors.

He was also a member of Australia’s celebrated “Oarsome Foursome” who won rowing gold at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics and led the Australian Olympic team at the 2012 London Olympic Games as the Chef de Mission.

Green’s “dedication to a client-first approach comes from a lifetime of drive, discipline, and team spirit,” said James Baum, Aon CEO. “I have no doubt that he will continue to utilise these values to create long-term and sustainable growth for the business.”
