Brokerage giant Gallagher has announced the acquisition of Ansin Insurance Brokers (AIB), a Perth based brokerage. A media release said this merger is Gallagher’s first for 2024.
"We are delighted that John [John Li, director of AIB] and his team are joining Gallagher,” said Sarah Lyons (pictured above), Gallagher’s CEO for Australia and Asia. “Their dedication to client service is a great match for us and I am sure they will flourish at Gallagher."
The release said the acquisition “will enhance Gallagher's expertise within the international mining and mining service provider sectors.”
AIB’s website now redirects to Gallagher. “Effective 19 February 2024, we are continuing our operations under the Gallagher brand and entity,” says the website. “Rest assured the fundamentals of how we work with your business will remain unchanged.”
One of Li’s former roles on his LinkedIn profile is senior development manager for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. He founded AIB in 2019.
Gallagher is part of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a US-headquartered insurance and risk management organisation with operations in more than 30 countries including Australia.
In 2022 and 2023, Gallagher completed a spate of local acquisitions.
