A team of Gallagher Bassett SA members is set to participate in a community event to raise vital funds for cancer patients.

The GB Gentle Bears team, comprising of SA team members and their families, will take part in Relay for Life, to be held on Feb. 23-24 at Adelaide Central, to raise $2,000 for the Cancer Council, Australia’s leading cancer charity.

According to the organisation, 51,100 South Australians are living with all types of cancer and every day, 26 South Australians are diagnosed with the deadly disease.

“The Cancer Council does such a wonderful job at raising vital funds for cancer patients,” said Shaun Meehan, general manager for SA. “The Relay for Life aligns to GB’s Workplace Giving and we’re proud to be a part of it in 2019.”

“I’ve personally been involved with the relay for the past 15 years with my family,” said Lomond Freeman, human resources business partner. “Cancer touches everyone, and this event allows us to remember and celebrate those who have battled this disease. This event allows us as a team to support individuals receiving treatment.”
