Global insurance brokerage Gallagher confirmed its latest acquisition this weekend, with the firm picking up two new businesses in the New South Wales region.

The ever-expanding brokerage released an investor statement on Sunday, announcing the acquisition of Protectors Insurance Brokers and Regent Insurance Brokers – collectively referred to as the Protectors Group.

Founded in 1982, the retail brokerage group specialises in construction, hospitality and transport coverage for commercial and corporate clients in Greater Western Sydney.

Owner David Michell and director Vince Gioiello – as well as their associates – will continue to operate from their current location under the direction of Sean Gallagher, head of branches for Gallagher’s Australian operations.

"TPG is a second-generation family business that represents a very good cultural fit for Gallagher and expands our geographical presence in the key growth area of Western Sydney," said president and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher. "We are very pleased to welcome David, Vince and their team to Gallagher."
