Gallagher has maintained its distinction as the only insurance broker to have earned its place on the Ethisphere World’s Most Ethical Company list, having won the recognition for the eighth consecutive year.

“This distinction as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies is not just earned year over year,” said Pat Gallagher, Gallagher president, chief executive and chairman. “We work toward it every day, in a continuous process of getting better, going farther and doing more for our clients, partners and one another.”

Reflecting on the Gallagher position that “times change, but ethics don’t,” Gallagher said: “While the meaning of ethical behaviour is up for discussion as our cultural norms change, we feel there will always be a standard of right and wrong that remains unchanged.”

Sarah Lyons, Gallagher chief executive, said the distinction reflects Gallagher’s “unswerving commitment to doing the right thing – by clients, our people, and the communities we serve.”

“It’s the Gallagher Way and an integral part of a culture that is helping us to build great things together with clients in Australia,” Lyons said.

The Ethisphere Institute’s World's Most Ethical Company assessment is based upon the institute's Ethics Quotient (EQ) framework. The framework’s criteria include evaluation of companies’ ethics and compliance programs, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance, and leadership, innovation, and reputation.
