Gallagher has acquired Newcastle-based McCluskey Insurance Brokers as part of its ongoing expansion strategy. This announcement marks the insurance giant’s fourth acquisition in the past five months.

McCluskey Insurance Brokers was founded in 1999 by Steve McCluskey. It currently operates in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast, serving clients across a diverse range of industries, including earthmoving, manufacturing, and commercial cleaning. According to a statement from Gallagher, the brokerage has expertise in liability, professional indemnity, industrial special risk, and pleasure craft. Through the acquisition, it will be able to offer several services and specialisms such as industry expertise, claims advocacy, placement capabilities, and providing global markets access under the Gallagher brand.

All five members of the McCluskey business will start working from the Gallagher Newcastle branch, Gallagher’s statement revealed.
