“We value our broker partners and the role they play in offering advice and solutions to clients.”

Those were the words of IAG’s Steve Marshall when it was announced that the executive general manager (EGM) for product and pricing will become business distribution EGM starting May 04. Marshall is taking over from consumer distribution EGM Amanda Whiting, who has been acting in the business distribution role for the last six months on top of her existing capacity.

“I look forward to working with our partners to deliver insurance solutions that will support their growth and ensure they can continue offering the best products to their clients,” commented Marshall, whose more than three decades of insurance industry experience includes four years with IAG.

Meanwhile Australia chief executive Mark Milliner described the EGM as an experienced insurance professional with a thorough understanding of the insurance value chain, adding that Marshall has demonstrated strong leadership and implemented significant change in his time at the insurance giant.

“I’m confident that he is well placed to continue building on our relationships with our broker network,” said Milliner. “We’re committed to our broker partnerships and we have aspirations to grow this part of our business as well as explore ways to enhance our relationship with our partners – which Steve will play a key role in leading.

“I’d also like to thank Amanda Whiting for her leadership and commitment to building a solid strategy and plan for our business distribution team over the last six months.”
