It has not been long since IAG appointed its new chief executive officer and managing director – and now it welcomes former Qantas Loyalty chief information officer Alastair Robertson as its new executive general manager of customer technology.

Robertson surprised many with the announcement of his new role in a LinkedIn post last week: “I am excited to announce that from Monday, I will be taking up a new position as EGM customer technology at IAG, working with [technology group executive] Neil Morgan and the team.”

“To all my friends and former colleagues at Qantas, I wish you the very best, and I know you will come through this period stronger.”

Robertson has served in several senior positions over the years, including the role as CIO of Qantas for two years. Previously, he was the chief technology officer of FOX SPORTS Australia, head of group strategy at Seven West Media, management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, and vice president for technology at GSK.
