Residents of Ingham in North Queensland will have another opportunity to speak directly with their insurers when the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) holds a community consultation session on November 4, 2025.

ICA director of mitigation and extreme weather response, Liam Walter, said the event marks the organisation’s fourth visit to North Queensland since the floods earlier in February.

“Insurers are committed to supporting those in Ingham and surrounds who may be facing challenges in their recovery,” Walter said, noting that continued face-to-face engagement remains important for affected residents.

The session will be held at the Hinchinbrook Shire Hall on Lannercost Street, running from 9:30am to 5pm. Attendees can book a consultation slot through the ICA website. Each meeting is designed to allow customers to raise specific issues with their insurer, clarify claim details, or seek additional guidance on next steps.

Walter encouraged anyone still navigating the claims process to attend: “We encourage anyone who feels they may benefit to come along and meet directly with their insurer for one-on-one support.”

Aside from claim-specific discussions, the event will also provide general information about insurance procedures, dispute resolution, and recovery assistance. Walter said these sessions aim to make the process more transparent and to ensure residents understand their options as the region continues to rebuild.
