Independent insurance broker Lockton has named Said Taiym as its executive vice president and chief digital officer. In the role, he will report to Ron Lockton, the company’s president and CEO.

“In Said, we found a fabulous executive and the best possible fit for Lockton. Said has a unique combination of expertise in business, insurance and digital,” Ron Lockton said. “Not only will Said help us improve Lockton’s business, but he will also help lead change in our industry to deliver a better overall customer experience.”

Taiym is an expert in creating technology innovations to improve customer experience, the company said. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and chief information officer for workers’ compensation company AF Group. He’s also worked for XL Group and Zurich North America.

Taiym is a board member of the National Council on Compensation Insurance and serves on the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Business advisory board. He holds bachelor’s degrees in management information systems and finance from UIC, as well as Columbia University’s executive management certification.
