Melbourne man charged over false workers' compensation claim

WorkSafe has charged a Melbourne man with dishonestly claiming more than $700,000 in workers' compensation.

Samer Ahmed, 49, from Roxburgh Park, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for dishonestly obtaining $714,550 between 2006 and 2016, and was bailed to reappear on July 27 for a committal mention hearing.

Ahmed was ordered to hand over his passport and to not approach points of international departure.
