MLC Life Insurance has appointed a former partner at KMPG UK to a newly created role.

Louise Portelli will join MLC Life Insurance in March as chief customer experience officer. In this role, she will take charge of creating exceptional customer experiences across the business’s group and retail channels that keep pace with customers’ increasing expectations.

She will report to CEO Davide Hackett as a member of the insurer’s leadership team.

Portelli has more than 15 years of experience in leading large-scale transformational change in financial services. She most recently led KPMG’s insurance customer transformation practice in the UK, and before that served as business transformation director at Legal & General.

“Attracting talent like Louise, who has an extensive experience in customer transformation, will be instrumental as we seek to better understand our customers’ insurance needs and bring innovative new products to market,” Hackett said.
