The board of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has appointed Angie Zissis as the new Austbrokers Insurance Member Services (AIMS) representative, replacing Glenn Shultz.

NIBA president Eric Harris welcomes Zissis to the board, commending his wealth of industry experience.

“Angie’s appointment ensures we have all the key groups represented, which has been invaluable in ensuring NIBA remains the one voice of the industry. I am sure Angie will be a great contributor to the work we have ahead of us,” Harris said.

Dallas Booth, chief executive officer at NIBA, said he’s looking forward to working with the seasoned leader on the national board and other NIBA matters.

“Angie is very highly regarded in the Australian intermediated insurance industry, and I am sure he will have a lot to offer the board as it continues to address Royal Commission recommendations, the Three Year Review in 2022 and other industry issues and challenges,” Booth said.

Zissis was also recently named chief executive officer of AIMS and group head of underwriting and placement with continued responsibility for the Sura underwriting business for which he is managing director.

He said he’s delighted to be joining the NIBA board of directors: “The organisation is an important representative voice for brokers, and it plays a significant role in shaping the direction of our industry in Australia.”

“I believe my experiences in broking, underwriting and senior leadership over the past 30 years will enable me to make a positive contribution and I’m looking forward to working alongside my new colleagues on the board.”
