Not long ago it was International Women’s Day. At that time, an expert said more can still be done to improve diversity in in the insurance industry. Indeed, when the statistics show that women only make up 12% of top management roles in the sector, and 1% of insurance firms have a female CEO, she’s not wrong.

But meet Niki Kesoglou – global head of diversity and inclusion, QBE Insurance; Wendy Lenton – group executive – people and culture, NIB; Vanessa Morton –director, Gary Morton Insurance Brokers; Georgette Nicholas – chief executive officer, Genworth Mortgage Insurance Australia; Stacey Williams – executive director – sales, account management and self insurance, Gallagher Bassett Australia - who have defied all odds and made it to the top.

They will be at the Women in Insurance Summit Sydney this August to share their stories about:

  • Strategies for effectively juggling work and family life
  • Overcoming challenges in the insurance industry
  • How to break the boys’ club mentality
  • What organisations should do to create a diverse and inclusive workforce

The event will also feature other female and male champions who will discuss how to address unconscious bias, diversity quotas, flexible work practices and how to be a resilient leader.

For a limited time only Insurance Business readers are being offered Super Saver discounts to the event. Find out more here and book.
