Willis Towers Watson has appointed London-based John Morley to be part of its insurance consulting and technology team.

Morley – who has more than two decades of international experience in financial services – specialises in large-scale regulatory and efficiency-driven finance, risk, and actuarial transformation programmes. He has worked for global insurers and reinsurers, as well as advisory firms.

The former Accenture managing director of finance and risk services for insurance will lead the global development of Willis Towers Watson’s systems integration and workflow platform. He will be in charge of identifying areas where the platform – called Unify – can help insurers in addressing business, regulatory, and governance challenges.

“I’m delighted to be joining the global powerhouse for insurance talent which is Willis Towers Watson, with its strong record for solving business problems through its deep understanding of insurance, and innovative technical and disruptive software solutions,” said Morley.

He continued: “Considering increased disruptive and digital competition, as well as regulatory scrutiny, the structure of the insurance consulting and technology team is in my view perfectly placed to allow consultants to help clients on the broad sweep of transformative issues that they are facing globally, to significantly improve business performance.”

Duncan Anderson, Willis Towers Watson’s global insurance technology leader, insurance consulting and technology, described Morley as a “proven leader with outstanding experience” in delivering major transformation projects.

“We’re confident he will help us deliver innovative and cutting-edge solutions for insurers aiming to achieve a higher standard of performance in risk and capital management,” said Anderson.
