Health Insurance Fund of Australia (HIF) has entered into a new three-year sponsorship agreement with West Perth Football Club (WPFC), securing naming rights for the team’s home ground in Joondalup. The stadium will now be known as HIF Health Insurance Oval.

The arrangement includes naming rights, branding across WPFC events, community-driven game days, and wellness initiatives designed to increase engagement with fans and local residents.

HIF supports local sport

The partnership reflects HIF’s continued focus on community-based health promotion and support for local sport.

At the official unveiling, HIF’s recently appointed chief executive, Glenn Oellermann, said the organisation viewed the collaboration as part of its commitment to health and well-being in Western Australia.

“WPFC is the oldest WAFL club and quintessentially West Australian. As a proud not-for-profit West Australian-based health fund, serving the community for over 70 years, we see a strong alignment in partnering with the club,” he said. “Our shared values on health, wellness, and the importance of community in WA are further highlighted by the importance of supporting grassroots football in our home state. It’s exciting to see the Falcons perform on the field this 2025 season.”

The announcement featured club representatives including WPFC captains Luke Meadows and Emily Bennett, along with HIF Chair Richard Homsany, WPFC CEO Joe McCarthy, and Club President Jimmy Caffieri.

“We are thrilled to now be based at HIF Health Insurance Oval – as proud advocates around the importance of sport in the community our values align perfectly with those that are displayed at HIF. This three-year partnership not only gives our club financial sustainability it also allows us to grow additional areas within health and well-being,” he said.

Extension of long-running sports sponsorship

The move follows HIF’s decision last August to extend its long-running sponsorship with the Perth Wildcats, continuing a partnership that began in 2009.

The new three-year agreement makes it the longest-standing commercial partnership in National Basketball League (NBL) history.

Under the renewed NBL agreement, HIF has retained logo placement on the back of Wildcats’ playing and training jerseys. The organisation also acts as game-day sponsor for the NBL Pride Round and continues fan engagement through branded giveaways and promotional campaigns.
