Sydney-headquartered Helio Restoration (Helio), which provides mitigation and restoration services across Australia for residential, strata, and commercial property claims, has launched a new brand for its mitigation and restoration services.

With over 17 years of experience in the insurance industry, Helio focuses on helping insurance businesses and their customers address water damage and other peril types through faster detection and intervention.

Helio expects the new mitigation and restoration brand to amplify technology's role in the mitigation and restoration process to stop damage faster and provide significant cost savings to insurers. With its live video streaming and collaboration app, coupled with predictive claim analytics, insurers may put the information earlier to make the right decisions faster from the site.

Our number one priority is to get customers back to normal faster, and we know that speed of response drives both cost reduction and a better customer experience,” said Helio head Glenn Lucas, who has more than 20 years of business leadership experience.

Lucas explained that launching the new brand was crucial as Australia experiences the impacts of La Niña, with water and mould issues rising across the east coast.

“Water damage is complex for insurers, mainly because it can cause ongoing problems if the damage is not mitigated properly,” he said. “You have a proven recipe for successful claim outcomes when you combine a fast response infrastructure with the best technology, bots, and analytics.”

Over the past 17 years, Helio has successfully handled over 55,000 claims, including 65 extreme weather-related events. Its team receives support from a supplier network of over 100 specialist restoration technicians across Australia to fully prepare for any disasters.

Helio's mitigation services include 24/7 emergency response (catastrophe, storm, and BAU claims), prevention of further loss, risk and damage mitigation to people and property, live video and data from the site, and water extraction. Meanwhile, its restoration services include:

  • Dehumidifying and drying;
  • Sanitising;
  • Mould removal;
  • Structural restoration;
  • Content pack out, storage, and restoration;
  • Infrared detection;
  • Post-remediation verification and lab results to ensure customers' safety before returning to their property;
