IAG has reshuffled the leadership of its broker-facing CGU and WFI business for the second time in 18 months, as it works through the middle of a major technology migration.

IAG’s Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) division said on Wednesday it had made new senior appointments and refined its operating structure, with changes taking effect on October 30. Damien Gallagher, executive general manager CX & growth, will leave after 15 years. He took that role in IIA’s restructure in 2025, which centralised underwriting, product, pricing and claims and gave him oversight of brand and growth across both brands.

Dustin Bartley, who has led IIA’s workers’ compensation business for the past five years, has been promoted to the newly shaped role of executive general manager, customer and growth for CGU and WFI. Chloe Porges, who has led CGU and WFI’s workers’ compensation claims function for five years, takes over as executive manager, workers’ compensation.

IAG said the changes realign functions and repoint positions to speed up decision-making and sharpen governance, transparency and accountability.

CGU and WFI chief executive Jarrod Hill said the refinements would reduce operational complexity at an important time for the business. “This is a necessary step change that reflects our commitment to meet market demands, and importantly, will lift our execution, service and responsiveness to brokers, partners and customers,” he said.

That time is defined by technology. IIA is midway through migrating to its Commercial Enterprise Platform (CEP), the $180 million system replacing CGU and WFI’s legacy infrastructure. CGU’s Padlock commercial property product was the first released on the platform, through the PolicyPlace broker portal. Hill has also rejected reports earlier this year that IAG was weighing a sale of the division.

For brokers placing with CGU and WFI, the practical change comes on October 30. The senior contacts for growth and for workers’ compensation are both changing. In workers’ compensation, the business lead and the long-serving claims lead are both moving into new roles.
