icare has announced the appointment of Geniere Aplin (pictured above) as its new CEO. A media release from the NSW insurance and care services provider said Aplin will start work on March 31st. Most recently, she was CEO of workers compensation claims specialist, EML Solutions.
icare’s chair, John Robertson, said the appointment follows a “rigorous recruitment process.”
"Her extensive knowledge of workers compensation in NSW, and broader insurance experience, will be an asset to icare as it continues to implement change that leads to better community outcomes,” said Robertson in the release.
He said a focus of the recruitment process was to find a leader who could build on the organisation’s reform program and its “sound governance, transparency and accountability practices.”
Aplin said it is a privilege to be selected to lead icare.
Former CEO Richard Harding resigned early last year after three years in the job. When he was appointed, Harding became one of the highest paid public servants in NSW with a salary, according to news reports, of more than $800,000 plus a 50% bonus.
