The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) is looking to fill several positions on its Research Ethics Committee.

ACC said the move reflects the large increase in non-research projects that need ethical consideration, including injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services and customer feedback. It is looking for up to five external members, who have strong interest in ethical principles. It is also seeking for at least one member with a deep understanding of advanced analytics.

“We’re continually looking to improve our services for our customers,” it said. “To do this we design, test, deliver, and fund a wide range of customer and business-focussed initiatives.

“We need to ensure these projects are ethically sound.”

ACC highlighted it has substantial and rich data that it uses to enhance customer service.

“As responsible stewards of our customers’ data, it’s important that we maintain ethical oversight of our data sharing,” it added.

Interested parties are urged to contact the ACC Ethics Committee.
