Allianz Partners New Zealand has appointed Brian Lenehan and David Wallace to its executive team to further enhance its strong market presence as it brings additional products and services to the country.

Lenehan will serve as chief underwriting officer with Wallace as chief sales officer – both with the aim of reinforcing Allianz Partners as the leader in travel insurance in the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brian and David to the Allianz Partners New Zealand leadership team. These two experienced insurance practitioners will strengthen many of our core services and set us up for success as we explore new lines of business,” said Renato Mattos, chief executive officer at Allianz Partners New Zealand.

“Both have extensive expertise and are renowned for their contributions to the industry. Under their respective guidance Allianz Partners New Zealand will continue to provide protection and care for our customers and partners in New Zealand.”

Lenehan has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on life insurance. He is a qualified actuary and a current member of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries (NZSA) Professional Conduct Committee and a former member of its council. He also has extensive expertise in pricing, product development, and management of insurance products.

“I’m excited to join an integral player in New Zealand’s insurance industry. I am looking forward to working with the team at Allianz Partners New Zealand to help continue to deliver quality customer-centric offers. The business continues to have strong and sustainable growth built on strong service, quality product offerings, and technological innovation,” Lenehan said.

Wallace is also a seasoned financial service professional with comprehensive market knowledge. He has contributed extensively to the wider financial service industry by serving as deputy chair of Workplace Savings NZ, chair of the Financial Services Council’s Strategic Research and Data & Insights Committees, and a member of the Financial Services Council’s Investment Committee.

“I am proud to be joining Allianz Partners New Zealand. My focus will be on continuing the business’s strong record as the leading travel insurance provider for New Zealanders, while growing and adapting our offering to maintain an edge in a competitive market,” Wallace said.
