The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has welcomed insurance industry leaders Kimberley Jonsson and Brendan Dunne to its board of directors.

With 17 years of experience across multiple regions, Jonsson is one of Australia’s leading specialists in body corporate insurance. She is currently the chief executive officer (CEO) of CHU Underwriting Agencies and has a longstanding relationship with ANZIIF, including being an ANZIIF fellow. Additionally, in 2017, she was named ANZIIF’s Young Insurance Professional of the Year at the Australian Insurance Industry Awards.

Jonsson commented that she has always been proud of her association with ANZIIF as the industry’s peak membership and education body.

“At a time when all organizations face not only operational but also regulatory challenges, ANZIIF’s commitment to promoting and enhancing the professionalism of the insurance industry is extremely important. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to ANZIIF,” she added.

Dunne is the chief customer and operations officer at Allianz Australia, leading a team of more than 2,500 people across general insurance, IT and security, business and technology transformation, procurement, property, and facilities.

Commenting on his new role at ANZIIF, Dunne said: “I am excited to join the ANZIIF board of directors, an organisation which is committed to inspiring and educating a new generation of insurance leaders and continuing to uplift the standards for customer centricity and excellence across the industry.”

Known for delivering quality service to customers and the community, he continued: “Our role in the insurance industry is to provide our customers with peace of mind so they can get on with living their lives.”

ANZIIF CEO Prue Willsford welcomed the new board members, adding: “The ANZIIF board strives to represent that diversity of our industry, and we are delighted to have leaders of the calibre of Brendan and Kimberley to join our board, ensuring that ANZIIF remains industry engaged and relevant to the changing needs of our broader insurance community.”

The announcement follows the addition of Scott Leney, head of risk management, Asia & Pacific and country corporate officer at Marsh McLennan Australia, to ANZIIF’s board of directors in September 2021.
