Gallagher Bassett (GB) has appointed Nathan Pilgrim as its new chief information officer, a newly created role in its executive team.

Pilgrim holds more than 15 years of senior leadership experience across many industries, including his most recent role at Sunsuper as head of technology and operations. He has a background in technology disciplines including service management, infrastructure, data management and business intelligence.

In his new role, Pilgrim will be responsible for the area of developing technology.

“The developing area of information and technology is a big focus for GB and our clients in the coming years,” GB Australia CEO John McNamara said. “We’re really pleased to have Nathan on board, and look forward to seeing the value that he will add in this space.”

Pilgrim, meanwhile, said insurance is undertaking a digital transformation. He looks to integrate AI and machine learning into the claims space and improve client services.

“I’m excited to be working with the team at GB, and our customers, as we progress towards achieving these outcomes,” he added.
