Insurance Council of New Zealand Te Kāhui Inihua o Aotearoa (ICNZ) has named its new president and vice president.

Toni Ferrier, who has stepped down as president following her move from AIG New Zealand to ICNZ non-member Marsh McLennan, is being replaced by IAG New Zealand chief executive Amanda Whiting (pictured). Succeeding Whiting as vice president is FMG (Farmers Mutual Group) CEO Adam Heath.

Commenting on her appointment, Whiting said in an emailed release: “I feel honoured to have the confidence of my fellow board members to take up this leadership role for general insurers and look forward to working with Adam to ensure New Zealanders continue to enjoy the strong protection our sector provides.”

The ICNZ president went on to acknowledge Ferrier’s “valuable contribution” during her term and also wished the new Marsh NZ leader success.
