A few insurers have been recognised as having some of the best workplaces in New Zealand at the annual IBM Best Workplaces Awards 2017.

Rothbury Group is one of the recipients of the Best Workplaces League Awards - organisations that consistently rank among New Zealand’s Best Workplaces - in a five-year league.

“We’re very proud that Rothbury has consistently ranked among the best New Zealand workplaces and has been included in the Best Workplace Five Year League,” Rothbury executive general manager human resource Christine Barkley said. “It’s a great achievement for our business and we’re thrilled to be recognised as a great place to work.

“Our people and culture are very important to us and are what make Rothbury such a great place to work.

“We’ve been participating in the survey for the last 11 years and over this time we’ve continued to work toward improving our culture and creating an environment that aligns with our company values and where our people feel engaged.”

FMG and AA Insurance are also winners in the Best Workplaces League Awards in the five- and 10-year leagues respectively.

“What each winner has in common is the commitment to take charge of their culture and continually listening to their people, and, most importantly, bringing their people’s ideas to life,” IBM talent management solutions consultant Emma Martin said.

“Succeeding in these awards year after year requires true perseverance and leadership because maintaining an engaged workplace can never be taken for granted. We know that when companies take their foot off the pedal, engagement declines.”

The IBM Best Workplaces Survey identifies New Zealand’s best workplace each year. In 2017, over 35,000 employees from 173 organisations (including 27 newcomers) participated in the survey, making it the largest study of its kind in New Zealand. The overall winner will be announced on Feb. 28 at the Awards & Winner’s Celebration event in Auckland.
