It was in January when it was announced that Lloyd’s of London performance management director Jon Hancock (pictured) would be leaving the insurance marketplace… now we know where’s he’s heading this spring.
Hancock, the man behind the resetting of the performance agenda at Lloyd’s, will be moving to American International Group (AIG) to serve as chief executive of international general insurance. His appointment will see the industry stalwart come onboard the general insurance executive leadership team at AIG.
“I am pleased to join AIG as the company continues its remarkable progress towards being a top performing company,” said Hancock, whose credentials include two and a half decades spent at RSA.
“I look forward to working with AIG’s talented colleagues around the world to enhance the value we deliver to clients as we position the company for sustained profitable growth.”
Hancock will be leading the international operations of AIG’s general insurance business.
Commenting on the key hire, AIG president & global chief operating officer and general insurance chief executive Peter Zaffino stated: “Jon is a seasoned executive and industry leader recognised for his track record of underwriting excellence and delivering strong financial results.
“Jon’s deep technical expertise and significant international operating experience ideally qualify him for this important leadership role.”
