Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has announced the appointment of Marc Scheidegger (pictured) as chief claims officer. Scheidegger will assume the role on June 01, subject to regulatory approval, and will join the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions executive committee. He will relocate from Paris to Zurich and will report to CEO Andreas Berger.

Scheidegger has more than 24 years of industry experience. Most recently, he served as claims director for continental Europe at a large global carrier.

“I’m very excited that Marc will join our team and help us continue to provide efficient, best-in-class claims service that gives customers peace of mind,” Berger said. “His customer-centricity aligns with our aspirations to improve the customer experience, and his expertise will support our journey to advance corporate insurance together.”

Scheidegger succeeds James George, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. George will step down as chief claims officer on April 01 after 25 years with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and its legacy companies. He will remain with the company through July 01 to aid in the transition.

“I’d like to thank Jim for his hard work and passion over his long tenure,” Berger said. “Under his leadership, claims continued its move to a market-facing function that clearly differentiated our offering. Jim’s notable contributions, such as our industry-leading claims commitment, give Marc and the rest of the claims organisation a solid foundation to build upon as we transform CorSo into a business that sets new standards and leads the industry forward.”
